License renewed for Waldorf School Tiflis
Every six years, free schools in Georgia need to have their license renewed in order to continue operating. With the ever-changing political situation and the ever-new education legislation, schools can’t always be sure to obtain this certificate.
Several years ago, the donors of the Friends of Waldorf Education contributed substantially to the acquisition of the school building – one of the prerequisites for the school license. Alternative schools are still viewed with suspicion, and their compliance with laws and regulations is strictly supervised. The parents, students, and teachers of the Waldorf School in Tiflis can now breathe a sigh of relief. In late September, they received the license for the next six years. For the first time, the licensing council approved the accreditation unanimously.
