RSUC has since tried to address the educational needs of the Waldorf movement in the country. Already in 1983, the first study programme in Waldorf Education received an approval from the Ministry of Education. In 1990, the programme in Early Childhood Education was inaugurated.

RSUC now offers the following fulltime BA – study programmes:

Early Childhood Waldorf Education and Waldorf Teacher Education.

These programmes are comprehensive and multi-disciplinary with a focus on artistic activities as part of an academic development. The students deepen their theoretical knowledge, in addition to gaining experience through practice. Art and artistic activities are integrated into the daily rhythm of the programmes. Kindergarten teachers and school teachers face many challenges in today’s society. It is important to develop an extensive unbiased pedagogical understanding of how to work with children.

RSUC also give a BA programme in Social Pedagogy.

This programme was initiated in 2012 and offers training in social work based on Steiner’s ideas. It covers a wide range of activities including management of after-school activities and teaching of students who need an alternative practical education.

As of 2005, RSUC runs an International Master Programme in Waldorf Education.

The master programme is intended for experienced educators who wish to carry out research into their own fields of practice – in order to reflect on and develop their professional knowledge and skills. The programme provides a foundation in educational theory and research methods for planning and evaluating empirical studies within educational settings. Study language in this master programme is English. RSUC has furthermore a Master Programme in cooperation with Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences, mainly in the German language.

In addition RSUC provides a full-time one year study programme in Visual Arts, 60 ECTS, specializing in color, form and line.

The RSUC programmes aim at developing and furthering aspects of Waldorf pedagogy and education in general. One particular interest of RSUC is contributing to a dialogue between Waldorf education and other contemporary educational ideas and practices.

In addition, it is important to acknowledge that what we do as individuals often affects others, our communities and shared environment. Everything we do as individuals affects others, our communities and shared environment. Education has an important role to play in caring for the future. As members of the world community we feel responsible for a changing world. Education for tomorrow develops knowledge, skills and life conditions which influence our future. This ethical attitude towards education is important for RSUC and significant for understanding and furthering the essentials of Waldorf education.
