Offenburg Declaration
The European Forum for Freedom in Education declares, the Fundamental Right to education includes refugees also.
Millions of people worldwide are fleeing from violence, war, hunger, exploitation, oppression and discrimination. Children, teenagers and adults rely on our welcoming acceptance and our support.
Europe is obligated by the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, Article 14, Paragraph 1, to ensure fair participation for all (''Everyone has the right to education and to have access to vocational and continuing training''). This includes people who are seeking refuge in Europe.
The European Forum for Freedom in Education (effe) takes this as an obligation to welcome all people who are seeking refuge in Europe without discrimination and to ensure their fundamental right to education as well as to address the causes, conditions, and consequences of migration.
